How to ensure the safety of wallet funds?
Time: 2022-11-22

Recently, affected by the FTX incident, the sales of hard wallets have risen sharply. But does the availability of wallets mean that the assets inside are safe? No matter what wallet you have, you should pay attention to the following points to ensure the safety of our property.

  1. Do not use the wallet not backed up;
  2. Do not use mail to transfer or store private keys;
  3. Do not use software collections or cloud backup to store private keys;
  4. Do not take screenshots or photos to save the private key;
  5. Do not use chat software to transfer the private key;
  6. Don't tell the private key to people around you;
  7. Do not send the private key to the group;
  8. Do not use wallet applications from unknown sources provided by third parties;
  9. Do not use the Apple ID provided by others;
  10. Do not import the private key to an unknown third-party website;
  11. Do not use a wallet that has not been backed up;
  12. Do not store mnemonics (private keys) in the form of screenshots, photos, telegrams, tweets, emails, mobile memos, etc.

The essence of anti-theft is to prevent mnemonics and private keys from being leaked or stolen by hackers, so users should be extremely careful when storing mnemonics and private keys. Once the mnemonic words/private keys are stolen by hackers, the assets will face great threats.

The best situation is to spread assets in multiple wallets, which is the same as not putting eggs in the same basket. It can minimize losses. In addition, you should store the Keystore on your own USB flash drive, try not to store it online or in the cloud, and store it separately from the password. Even if it is stolen by hackers, it is difficult to crack the wallet account without a password.
